Yup, I’m still in Mexico

Here’s an HDR photo shot from the balcony of my hotel room. I’m just learning HDR, so don’t criticize much.

I enjoy going to other countries and being directed to different google pages.
I do not enjoy finally getting my hulu.com beta tester account and not being able to access any of the videos due to not being in the USA. Sure I could use a proxy server to fake hulu into thinking I was in the US, but I’m on vacation. It can wait.

I’m in Mexico Right Now

…and you are super jealous.

My triceps are sore from working out too much. I have a full bar in my room. I’m reading a book about black holes. I’m getting nice and tan. I have lots of pictures to share. You’re probably freezing your arse of. Ha!

Do I like you gallery2?

I’m still on the fence about gallery2. In conjunction with my hosting (Dreamhost), it’s slower then molasses. I need to compile and point gallery2 to my own php pool to see if I get a bump in performance before tossing it out completely.

Good to know: gallery2 does not supply any end user options to modify the length of time in which a photo expires from an rss feed. For example I added a feed of new and updated images in gallery2 to my facebook account. One day after upload a new/updated image it was no longer considered new/updated leaving the feed empty. Maybe it’s there, may I’m just blind, but…

To extend the expiration of new images the value of the $newDays variable in the: /modules/rss/classes/RssHelper.class file must be changed. Ex: $NewDays = 30 (30 Days) ;

Voy a Mexico Para Vacación

Posted: December 2nd, 2007 | Author: | Filed under: Uncategorized | No Comments »

For the first time since 1997 I am going on a vacation. It’s 2007. In 1997 I was in high school. I’m now 26. I think I’m overdue.
Over the past ten years I have either been too consumed with school, work, or playing in a band to take a vacation. For the past few years any time off from work/school/music has been spent at home due to a lack of funds.
Sure, I’ve done a good amount of touring, but touring does not equal vacation. Touring is fun but it also brings stress, worry and lots of unanswered questions:

Are we going to make enough money to get to the next show?
Will the show be canceled?
Did we bring enough merch?
Why is the right back window of the van missing?
Popeyes or Waffle House?
Who’s gonna flirt with the girl with the lazy eye and cold sores so we can have a place to sleep tonight?
Is this microphone going to give me aids?
Are we going to get turned around at the border?
Will I have a job when I get back?
Who is driving? (Obviously bear is driving)

Back to vacation talk. I will be gone for a week. Twill be glorious. I’m off to the Puerto Morales Mexico and will be staying at the Excellence Riviera Cancun.
I plan on eating, sleeping, swimming and working out and not stressing over anything.

Expect lots of photos and possibly some video. I will be updating my photo gallery with a plethora of pics while down there.
