Mmmm More Tzatziki Please!

Currently there is a kitten going crazy outside my door. He was just trying to climb my bike which is resting up against my wall so I tossed him out and closed the door. I think it’s time for the snip snip. It’ll calm him down a little.

I’m still trying to add some furnishings to the apartment. It’s still has a faint echo to it and there is nothing on the walls in the main room or kitchen.
I purchased some art through esty and deviantart. Once the apartment has a bit more substance maybe I’ll put up some photos of the place for archival sake.

gyro!
I am making a “college” try not to be tacky. I will however make an exception: A Gyro Poster. Yes, if I could get my hands on one I would throw class right out the window. My ideal Gyro poster would be preferably sun stained and printed in the late 80’s by Kronos.

There just seems to be something terribly wrong with those posters… Such precise placement of the Gyro in front of the girls face. I won’t even get into the texture and consistency of the gyro. Magnificent! If the whole human race was wiped clean from this earth and only one thing was left to signify our existence I would vote for the gyro poster to be that one thing.

I have been looking on and off for a couple of years for the right poster. I’d show some class and get a real nice frame for it. I’d make sure the lighting was correct. I bet if I took real good care of it (left it in the sun some more) it’d be worth more than the original purchase price. I may become impatient waiting for an aged one to come my way only to break down and buy a new copy directly from Kronos. Maybe I could start up a company that professionally ages gyros posters. I could be sitting on a goldmine.

Kronos is currently selling this one on their site:
more gyro!
It’d be a great christmas present. Hint Hint.

Maybe next post I’ll let you in on my dream room. Once I own a house, I am making it happen. It’ll be glorious. You’ll be so jealous.

Free Things That Are Awesome

I have (re)discovered some amazing free tools that you should too.

Hamachi – Easy to setup cross platform VPN connection program that incorporates logmein. Great for accessing files off of computers that don’t have a static ips and you can stream your itunes library over the internet!? Now I don’t have to go home every time my parents have a problem with their computers.

No-IP – Static DNS for a Dynamic IP. Solves my file sharing, remote connection, ftp/http woes. As long as my computer is on and the service is running I can connect to it through any known fashion. Yay!

last.fm – They really stepped it up with their newer streaming player. Throw in a tag, artist and it plays artists you may like. Great when you are like me and you don’t have an mp3’s on your laptop.

Yay Music!

Sometimes I fall out of love with music. I lose interest and listen to close to nothing for weeks sometimes months. That happened from mid October into November.

But, I’m back in love.
Albums I have discovered recently and enjoy throughly:
Joanna Newsom: Ys
Converge: No Heros
Damien Rice: 9
Muse: Black Holes and Revelations
Rilo Kiley: More Adventurous
Ratatat: Classics
Beck: The Information

This weather sure is messed up. I’ll take it.
Comcast gave me a bunch of channels I didn’t order. I’ll take it.

With the help of the Bit Torrent Gods I have rediscovered The Adventure of Pete and Pete. A few years back I met little Pete. Harris played an outdoor festival at UMass Amherst with Pete’s band. At the time I think he was going to Amherst College and he was playing in some hippy blues jam band. It was funny. He still looked like little Pete.

I plan on going to my first Cereal Party tomorrow night. I have never been, but have heard epic tales.
Cereal Party

Not only did I meet little Pete, but I met the real life Dude from the Big Lebowski a few years back while playing the Lebowski Fest in NYC. He was a fat drunken slob. Speaking of which, The Big Lebowski is on Showtime (which I didn’t pay for) so, “Shut the fuck up Donnie.”

Two week later Comcast decides to come by and grace us with their cable services. I didn’t want to go with them, but they were the only game in town. Well that is not true, they were the only game in our apartment. FIOS doesn’t exist yet in my neighborhood and RCN is not hooked up to our building. So Comcast it is. I have internet again and that’s all that matters.

So here is Percival. I call him Percy. He is a hellion and has bad gas when he gets excited.

Harris played 3 week night shows last week. I’m feeling it. I’ll write more when I catch on my sleep. Soon Soon.
