Guau-Guau Woof-Woof Bup-Bup

Dog Bites Man is my favorite show right now. The humor is amazing. They take the best elements of Upright Citizen’s Brigade, Stella and Ali G and put it into one half hour of pure awesome. It’s part sketch, part improv, part real people getting the wool pulled over their eyes. Upon seeing the commercials I wasn’t compelled to watch it, but I saw an episode a couple nights ago and must say I am hooked. Check it out.

In other comedy news… by chance I caught funny lady Amy Sedaris on the Craig Furguson show while accidently changing to the channel to CBS. She had a cute sundress on. She was beautiful. The interview was so so (I remember why I don’t watch his show), but Amy was plugging her upcoming movie Strangers with Candy! I can’t wait to see it. Strangers with Candy brings me to Steve Colbert: The Colbert Report has also stepped up lately. Bravo.

I just need to keep reminding myself that money doesn’t make you happy. Having no money just makes you miserable.

Harris played in Greenwich, CT last night. We played the Arch Street Teen Center. The place was so beautiful it made me want to vomit. It reminds me of what the Boys and Girls Club in Plymouth was like growing up. Ohh wait, no it doesn’t. The B&G Club didn’t have a double teared stage, or state of the art video game systems, or an outdoor fully equipped ampitheatre, or a juice bar. We had some beat up ping pong tables, and a basketball court that wasn’t even full size, had no out of bounds and a ceiling that was about a three feet higher than the hoops.

Don’t get me wrong: It’s great people with a little extra are nice enough to put money back into the community. Someday if I ever have money I’m gonna make sure to give it to the people that really need it.

Today I totally dorked out. I messed around with VLC Media Player.
I have configured it to do a couple of fun things such as:
-Use a web browser on a laptop to play videos and mp3’s remotely on another computer.
-Set up a multicast stream so that I can have Mp3’s, Movie, CD’s or DVD’s play at the same time in any room that has a computer. Evenutally I may expand this to the web… Listen to what I’m listening too type thingy?

After that I configured my Airport Express (Wireless Card) to act as WDS (Wireless Distrobution Center) so that I could extend the range of our wireless network.

I then encrypted the network with WEP Hex mumbo jumbo.

Lastly I setup a media center Linux box for the house. I chose Ubuntu. Why? Cause the name sounded cool and I liked the color scheme. In the morning hopefully I can find a cheap VGA to DVI convertor so that I can plug the box into a TV.

So my plans for the media center are so that my parents and myself included can play video off the computer onto a tv, but do it remotely from a laptop through html. Pretty snazzy huh?

They thought it was cool enough to be able to sit by the pool with their laptop and access all their music on the computer upstairs to steam wirelessly into the sound system in the basement which also plays outside. Boy are they in for a suprise.

I have been on a torrent rip lately. I just started using Azureus. I highly reccommend it. They support encrypted transport!

Summer in the City…

…means cleavage, cleavage, cleavage. Got a copy of the new Regina Spektor. I find it to be very enjoyable. There’s some neat stuff hidden in the mixes.

Summer has finally come! Things I am enjoying about the summer:
Humidity
World Cup Soccer in HD
Red Sox
My pool

[Added at a later date:]
I have mosquito bites all over my legs. I’d complain, but it’s way better than having chapped lips, or numb fingers from the cold.
